The Shinkafi Emirate Council has stated that the “Sadaukin Shinkafi” title conferred on former Minister of Aviation Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Emir Of Shinkafi, Alhaji Muhammad Makwash is irrevocable and irreversible. Recall that conferment of the title on the PDP chieftain has led to a controversy and resignation of five titleholders in the Shinkafi Emirate Council of Zamfara State. However Wambai Shinkafi, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi who spoke on behalf of the emirate insisted that conferment of titles by the Emir cannot be reversed and also a gesture to deserving recipients exercised within the powers and the discretion of Emir. He warned against playing the ethnic and religion card in the traditional exercise. Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi said; “Femi Fani-Kayode is not the only non-Muslim to bag a title from the North, it is worthy of note that several northern traditional rulers had conferred titles on southerners like Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who was conferred with Chieftaincy title of Yallaban Sokoto, Chief Rochas Okorocha Danjekan Sokoto, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu Wakilin Anka, and former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was conferred with the Garkuwan Manoman Zamfara.Others include Barrister Solomon Dalung conferred with Magayakin Bukkuyyum; Sen David Mark as Jarumin Kaura Namoda; Senator Victor Umeh as Jagaban Shinkafi; the APC leader, Bola Tinubu has also bagged such title with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo. Why is FFK’s title different?“There is no hatred between Muslims and Christians or northerners and southerners but some people who want to ignite hatred are reading political meaning to it. He was chosen so that we can foster unity. He served as a minister and represented the whole of Nigeria." Ahead of the September 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo state, former governor of the state and suspended National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomole, says he regrets supporting the candidacy of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, during the 2016 governorship election. Oshiomole who was the state governor, anointed and supported Obaseki as his successor and went all out to campaign for him. Things have since fallen apart between both politicians. Speaking to some residents of the state on Sunday, July 26, Oshiomole said he supported the governorship aspiration of Obaseki in 2016 to ensure the continuity of his projects and programs. Two former dispatch riders identified as Sule Abdulkareem and Celestine Joseph have been arrested by the Lagos state police for attempting to dispossess an Uber driver of his vehicle in Anthony Village area of the state. They were arrested by SARS operatives at Anthony-Oke area of the state, while looking for a more deserted part of the area to launch an attack on the driver. The two suspects who both confessed to attempting to rob the driver, claimed they had wanted to use the vehicle as collateral for a loan to start up a business. A gun was also recovered from them. Abdulkareem said; “I met Celestine (Joseph) when we were both dispatch riders for an online retail company. I left the company when my salary was being deducted illegally even after I had paid fully for the motorcycle that was given to me.“When I left the company, my friend told me that he wanted to start a restaurant and bar business on the Island and that he needed N1.6m for the business. We looked everywhere to get a loan, but nobody was willing to give us. It was during our search for the loan that somebody told us that we would need collateral.“We had wanted to use that Toyota Corolla as our collateral to get the money; unfortunately, we were unable to rob the driver of his car. We both agreed to rob the driver. It was an unfortunate incident.” Joseph on his own part said they got the gun from a friend and used it to protect themselves from hoodlums while they worked for the online company. He said; “We planned to snatch the vehicle from him before he got to Maryland; when we asked him to stop at Anthony bus stop, he refused.“When he did not stop, we decided not to rob him again, but we were arrested by the police.” The post Police arrest former dispatch riders for attempting to snatch vehicle from an Uber driver appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, Asari Dokubo has reacted to the alleged mismanagement of N81 billion by the interim management committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Dokubo described the alleged mismanagement as mere pickpocketing and nothing compared to what Nigerians from other regions have looted from the Niger Delta people. He further likened the current probe of the agency as that of a man calling the police to report a pickpocketing case he witnessed while armed robbers are breaking into his house. Dokubo said; “We are talking about N81 billion being pick-pocketed from Niger Delta while the bulk of our money, our resources is being carted away and we are not talking. “They want me to run after pickpocketers and leave armed robbers that are coming into my house. When they talk about (Godswill) Akpabio, tell them about (Abubakar) Malami, when they talk about Joy (Nunieh), tell them about Sadiya (Umar Farouq), when they talk about any senator, tell them about (Ibrahim) Magu.”The post N81bn theft at NDDC is mere pickpocketing compared to what Nigerians from other regions are stealing - Asari Dokubo appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has linked some members of the National Assembly to some contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission. Punch reports that Akpabio in a list in which he copied the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, enlisted the former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the NDDC, Nicholas Mutu, who represents the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency of Delta State, as one of the lawmakers that have been awarded contracts by the Commission. According to him, Mutu who was arraigned in court in February this year by the EFCC for alleged abuse of office and N320m fraud, received 74 projects including various emergency road projects in Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Rivers states. Akpabio, who is a former governor of Akwa Ibom state, also linked the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (Delta-North), with 53 projects, which included emergency repairs of Asue Street, Owa Phase 2; ldumuogbe Road via Ojemaye; Otolokpo College Road, Otolokpo; and the Police lshu Ani Ukwu Road, Issele Uku. Other lawmakers that Akpabio listed projects against are Senator Matthew Urhoghide (Edo-South), six; James Manager (Delta-South), six; Samuel Anyanwu (Imo-West, 8th Senate), 19; and others simply identified as Ondo and Edo Reps. The minister, however, did not provide the cost of the projects listed against the lawmakers’ names, while the cost of contracts given to non-lawmakers had costs of various projects attached to them. Akpabio did not also state if the lawmakers were directly awarded the contracts or they nominated the projects under their Zonal Intervention Projects, also known as constituency projects. On Monday, July 20, Akpabio while testifying at the House of Representatives panel investigating allegations of financial recklessness at the NDDC, alleged that most of the contracts awarded in the Commission were to members of the National Assembly. On Tuesday, July 21, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, gave the Minister 48 hours to release the names of the lawmakers in question or face punitive measures. After the two-day ultimatum had expired, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, directed the clerk of the House to institute a lawsuit against Akpabio after he failed to release the names of the National Assemblies members that have been awarded contracts by NDDC. Akpabio in a letter that was later read on the floor of the House of Representatives by the Speaker, denied saying 60% of the contracts were awarded to lawmakers. Alongside the image, Aurier posted a verse from the Holy Quran.“May Allah accept our prayers and accept you in His kingdom of paradise,” “I love you my little bro.“I will miss you like mad,” he added. “We’ll take care of everything here, watch over us up there and rest in peace.” View this post on Instagram Le Messager d’Allah a dit : « Quand Allah veut du bien a Son serviteur, Il accelere son chatiment ici-bas et quand Il veut du mal a Son serviteur, Il retient le chatiment de son peche jusqu’a ce qu’il en recoive sa punition entiere le jour de la resurrection. A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has explained why he defected from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). On Friday, Dogara returned to APC from PDP after he met with President Buhari in the villa. He had first dumped PDP ahead of the 2015 general election and joined APC. He dumped the APC again for PDP in 2018 ahead of the 2019 polls. He has now defected back to APC. In a letter of resignation addressed to Bogoro ‘C’ Ward chairman of the PDP in Bauchi state, Dogara who represents Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa federal constituency in the House of Representatives, hinged his decision to defect from the party to the "failure or breakdown of governance in Bauchi under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed." According to him, the governor, whom he helped into power, has not lived up to expectation. Read his letter of resignation:I write to intimate you of my decision to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).This became necessary because the same reasons why we fought hard in 2019 to effect changes in the Governance of our dear state are festering now.I intend to bring these issues to the front burners once again as the fight to install decent and egalitarian government in our dear state continues.Specifically, I intend to ask questions about the following:a. What has happened to LGA allocations since May 2019?b. What happened to our campaign promise to conduct LGA elections within six months of the PDP government?c. What happened to the N4.6 billion loan taken from a bank and paid directly into an private company’s account?d. Why are we segmenting salaries and why is payment of salaries of state workers outsourced to a private firm as consultants?e. Why are contracts inflated, awarded and payment of mobilisation done in violation of extant rules on procurement?f. Why are our highly revered Traditional Rulers and Elders treated with odium contrary to the guarantee we gave during the campaign that such will not happen under a PDP government?Mr. Chairman, you will agree with me that I cannot raise these issues and many more questions without a charge of disloyalty levelled against me if I were to remain a member of the PDP.I cannot also fail to raise these questions now, having raised similar ones during the administrations of Governors Isa Yuguda and Mohammed A. Abubakar. If I abdicate this responsibility on the altar of partisan loyalty, I will be the most irresponsible and unprincipled politician in Bauchi State. Thus, by this letter, I have resigned my membership of the PDP to enable me keep faith with my principle of fighting for good governance in our Dear State.Thank you for your kind considerations. The post Ex-Speaker, Yakubu Dogara gives reasons for defecting from PDP to APC appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

On Sunday, July 26, Tonto Dikeh, had an interview with journalist, Dele Momodu where she revealed that she has forgiven her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, for the sake of their child, King Andre. Tonto while speaking on the importance of forgiveness, said she has come to realize that forgiveness is not about the next person but about one's self. She said she has gotten to read the part of the bible where God said he wouldn't forgive us if we do not forgive others. She added that she forgives easily now but doesn't like being provoked by the things a person does after she has forgiven him or her. When asked about her attitude to forgiveness and vindictiveness, she saidA man I love and respect always, talked to me about forgiveness and I have come to realize that forgiveness is not about the next person.I know that forgivessness is not about the next person but the explanation I got recently really wowed me. It says I have forgiven you not because you have to be forgiven, I have forgiven you because I do not want to put myself in a place of stagnation when it comes to growth, I do not want to put myself in a place of stagnation when it comes to love, i do not want to put myself in a place of warship, progressing, my career.Forgiveness is a whole lot and I only just realized that the bible says that if we do not forgive, God cannot forgive us. All these things are in the bible but it never really made an impact to me until someone really explained it. So today I would tell you that for me it comes really easy. I forgive alot but I just don't like to get provoked by the things that you do after it. I think forgiveness is an essential for ones growth'' Asked if there is anyone she would never forgive in her life, she said''As at this moment, there is nobody I have not forgiven as of today 26 July 2020.As of today, there is nobody I hold a grudge on but there are people who I have forgiven but I would never have a relationship with again'' she said Asked if she has forgiven her son's father, she respondedOh yes, especially him. I forgive him and wish him the best, for my son's sake. I do. Why not?'' She also spoke about her career as an actress where she said she has rejected some roles so she doesn't get stereotyped. Citing Pete Edochie as an example of an actor who has been stereotyped over the years, Tonto said she has often rejected the attempt by the movie industry to get her to always feature as a particular character. She wondered why Pete Edochie still accepts just the same role where the only thing that changes is his name in the movies. When asked if she has rejected roles in a movie, she responded''Yes I did. I was one artiste who didn't like to be stereotyped and Nollywood has this habit. If you watch most of Uncle Pete Edochie's film, it never changes. Only his name changes. His words never changes, his character never changes, nothing changes. Sometimes his clothes even changes but his name is the only constant thing that changes. They always give him the same role all the time and I wonder why he takes it but then again he is a veteran so I am never going to question that. I said that to say this. Sometimes when you are good at a role, Nollywood would want to impose that role one you . They would want to give it to you until the whole wold gets tired of your talent because you are playing just one particular role'' She also spoke about the incident in Dubai where she reportedly had a faceoff with the authorities. Tonto said it was never about them finding drugs on her but that she had a faceoff with one of the security guards at an event she attended. She said the guard at the event called her a prostitute in the Arabic language and she got offended by it.''Far from it. It was not drugs because if it was, definitely I would be in jail. It had nothing to do with drugs or alcohol even. I really don't want to go into so much about Dubai because it is a place where I have a home now and I want to be able to enter Dubai freelyafter all of this and that is why I never really talk about it.I was insultedby one of the guards. He said something very derogatory to me. He said it in Arabic, I think Lebanon. It's called Sharamuta, its called prostitute, it means a call girl and I was not so dressed...I mean it was a show so I had like a very amazing bra inside and this blazers on top. To them, it is Haram when you are not dressed properly. So that is where all of the altercation started. That was the only problem. Anything asides that is just all wrong information. And also trying to film the situation. They said that was wrong'' she saidWatch the video below View this post on Instagram On Sunday July 26, Tonto Dikeh, had an interview with journalist, Dele Momodu where she revealed that she has forgiven her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill for the sake of their child, King Andre. .
