The Shinkafi Emirate Council has stated that the “Sadaukin Shinkafi” title conferred on former Minister of Aviation Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Emir Of Shinkafi, Alhaji Muhammad Makwash is irrevocable and irreversible. Recall that conferment of the title on the PDP chieftain has led to a controversy and resignation of five titleholders in the Shinkafi Emirate Council of Zamfara State. However Wambai Shinkafi, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi who spoke on behalf of the emirate insisted that conferment of titles by the Emir cannot be reversed and also a gesture to deserving recipients exercised within the powers and the discretion of Emir. He warned against playing the ethnic and religion card in the traditional exercise. Four police officers have been dismissed from the Kwara State Police Command after being found guilty of misconduct including extorting a suspect. Spokesperson of the command, Peter Okasanmi who confirmed the development further disclosed that eight other officers were also sanctioned for related offences. It was further learnt that the state police commissioner has ordered a retrial in one of the cases involving the four officers. Okasanmi said; “One of the cases tried, reviewed and in which punishment of dismissal was upheld involved the duo of ex-Sgt Sola Akano, and ex- Cpl Babatunde Glorious.“They were alleged to have illegally arrested a suspect, booked the suspect already in their custody out on enquiry, but took him to his bank, where he was made to empty his bank account, withdrawing the sum of N1,190,000 for the dismissed officers.“Not done, they again demanded and insisted on the sum of N200,000 bail which they also collected from members of the suspect’s family before releasing him.“The duo also seized the two phones of the suspect and as at the time of their arrest, the two phones had already been checked and converted to their personal use.“It was after the suspect regained his freedom that the matter was brought before the police commissioner, who ordered the investigation of the two ex-non commissioned officers."The post 
Ahead of the September 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo state, former governor of the state and suspended National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomole, says he regrets supporting the candidacy of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, during the 2016 governorship election. Oshiomole who was the state governor, anointed and supported Obaseki as his successor and went all out to campaign for him. Things have since fallen apart between both politicians. Speaking to some residents of the state on Sunday, July 26, Oshiomole said he supported the governorship aspiration of Obaseki in 2016 to ensure the continuity of his projects and programs. He however says he regrets it and is apologising to the state residents.“I have made my honest mistakes. Only God is perfect. I am now 68 years. Two former dispatch riders identified as Sule Abdulkareem and Celestine Joseph have been arrested by the Lagos state police for attempting to dispossess an Uber driver of his vehicle in Anthony Village area of the state. They were arrested by SARS operatives at Anthony-Oke area of the state, while looking for a more deserted part of the area to launch an attack on the driver. The two suspects who both confessed to attempting to rob the driver, claimed they had wanted to use the vehicle as collateral for a loan to start up a business. A gun was also recovered from them. Abdulkareem said; “I met Celestine (Joseph) when we were both dispatch riders for an online retail company. I left the company when my salary was being deducted illegally even after I had paid fully for the motorcycle that was given to me.“When I left the company, my friend told me that he wanted to start a restaurant and bar business on the Island and that he needed N1.6m for the business. We looked everywhere to get a loan, but nobody was willing to give us. It was during our search for the loan that somebody told us that we would need collateral.“We had wanted to use that Toyota Corolla as our collateral to get the money; unfortunately, we were unable to rob the driver of his car. We both agreed to rob the driver. It was an unfortunate incident.” Joseph on his own part said they got the gun from a friend and used it to protect themselves from hoodlums while they worked for the online company. He said; “We planned to snatch the vehicle from him before he got to Maryland; when we asked him to stop at Anthony bus stop, he refused.“When he did not stop, we decided not to rob him again, but we were arrested by the police.” The post 
Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, Asari Dokubo has reacted to the alleged mismanagement of N81 billion by the interim management committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Dokubo described the alleged mismanagement as mere pickpocketing and nothing compared to what Nigerians from other regions have looted from the Niger Delta people. He further likened the current probe of the agency as that of a man calling the police to report a pickpocketing case he witnessed while armed robbers are breaking into his house. Dokubo said; “We are talking about N81 billion being pick-pocketed from Niger Delta while the bulk of our money, our resources is being carted away and we are not talking. “They want me to run after pickpocketers and leave armed robbers that are coming into my house. 26-year-old Pwadimadi Zeham, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Adamawa state police command, for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in the state. Disclosing this to newsmen, the spokesperson of the police command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said Zeham was arrested last Thursday July 23 in Numan town in the state after he allegedly had carnal knowledge of the little girl. "Detectives attached to Numan Division have arrested one Pwadimadi Zeham, 26, a resident of Mbulawa ward, Numan Local Government Area, for raping a four-year-old girl. The suspect, who happened to be a close neighbour to the victim, took her into his room on July 23 and had carnal knowledge of her.The mother, upon noticing the unusual behaviour of her little baby, closely monitored and observed sperm in her private part, hence she reported.The victim is now undergoing medical screening while the suspect is taken into custody for investigation and prosecution." The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has linked some members of the National Assembly to some contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission. Punch reports that Akpabio in a list in which he copied the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, enlisted the former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the NDDC, Nicholas Mutu, who represents the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency of Delta State, as one of the lawmakers that have been awarded contracts by the Commission. According to him, Mutu who was arraigned in court in February this year by the EFCC for alleged abuse of office and N320m fraud, received 74 projects including various emergency road projects in Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Rivers states. Akpabio, who is a former governor of Akwa Ibom state, also linked the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (Delta-North), with 53 projects, which included emergency repairs of Asue Street, Owa Phase 2; ldumuogbe Road via Ojemaye; Otolokpo College Road, Otolokpo; and the Police lshu Ani Ukwu Road, Issele Uku. Other lawmakers that Akpabio listed projects against are Senator Matthew Urhoghide (Edo-South), six; James Manager (Delta-South), six; Samuel Anyanwu (Imo-West, 8th Senate), 19; and others simply identified as Ondo and Edo Reps. The minister, however, did not provide the cost of the projects listed against the lawmakers’ names, while the cost of contracts given to non-lawmakers had costs of various projects attached to them. Akpabio did not also state if the lawmakers were directly awarded the contracts or they nominated the projects under their Zonal Intervention Projects, also known as constituency projects. On Monday, July 20, Akpabio while testifying at the House of Representatives panel investigating allegations of financial recklessness at the NDDC, alleged that most of the contracts awarded in the Commission were to members of the National Assembly. On Tuesday, July 21, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, gave the Minister 48 hours to release the names of the lawmakers in question or face punitive measures. After the two-day ultimatum had expired, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, directed the clerk of the House to institute a lawsuit against Akpabio after he failed to release the names of the National Assemblies members that have been awarded contracts by NDDC. Akpabio in a letter that was later read on the floor of the House of Representatives by the Speaker, denied saying 60% of the contracts were awarded to lawmakers. The post 
Tottenham and Ivory Coast defender, Serge Aurier, has paid an emotional tribute to his late brother, Christopher Aurier, who was murdered in oulouse, France early this month. The 26-year-old Christopher, before his murder, played for French fifth-division side Toulouse Rodeo. Christopher’s death came in the aftermath of Tottenham's 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the North London derby, but Aurier still featured in subsequent matches. He was fatally shot in the early hours of Monday July 13 outside a nightclub in Toulouse and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital. French police have since started investigations and the shooting suspect is in police custody. The suspect reportedly went to a police station on Tuesday July 14, and said he had been the gunman. According to reports , an argument over a woman could have been behind the shooting. A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has explained why he defected from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). On Friday, Dogara returned to APC from PDP after he met with President Buhari in the villa. He had first dumped PDP ahead of the 2015 general election and joined APC. He dumped the APC again for PDP in 2018 ahead of the 2019 polls. He has now defected back to APC. In a letter of resignation addressed to Bogoro ‘C’ Ward chairman of the PDP in Bauchi state, Dogara who represents Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa federal constituency in the House of Representatives, hinged his decision to defect from the party to the "failure or breakdown of governance in Bauchi under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed." According to him, the governor, whom he helped into power, has not lived up to expectation. The police in Osun state have arrested a Nurse identified as Tunde Oyeniran, for allegedly using a cutlass to kill his wife and their two children at their home in Inisa town in the state on Friday, July 24. Spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed this to newsmen, said Oyeniran allegedly hacked his wife and children to death and thereafter used the cutlass to inflict cuts on himself in the hand and stomach. He then raised an alarm claiming that his family was attacked by hoodlums. Opalola said Oyeniran has been arrested and is currently being treated for the injuries on his body. She said a preliminary investigation revealed a foul play. She said men of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department have already commenced investigation to unravel the mystery behind the attack. “From the information available to us, the incident happened around 11pm last Friday in Inisa. The suspect reportedly used a cutlass to kill his wife, Sarah, and the two children living with them.Three corpses recovered from the scene have been deposited in a morgue in Ikirun for post-mortem examination. A cutlass was also recovered from the scene. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Undie Adie, has directed thorough investigation into the incident.” The post 
The People Democratic Party PDP has said that President Buhari's recent visit to Mali for a peace mission shows he can leave the comfort and safety of the Presidential Villa.They stated that he should make it a priority to also answer the distress calls by Nigerians and immediately visit Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, Taraba, Benue, Borno, Adamawa, Sokoto, Yobe and other states that are being attacked by bandits, insurgents, kidnappers, and marauders. In a statement released by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party said President Buhari’s prioritization of the situation in Mali over the ''worsening political and economic instability, festering corruption as well as escalated banditry, killings and bloodletting in various parts of our country is a misplacement of governance urgency as well as an inexcusable dereliction of statutory responsibilities vested on the person and office of the President and Commander in Chief of our nation''. The PDP in its statement said it leaves much to be desired when the President and Commander-in-Chief "cannot live up to his statutory governance responsibility at home is always preoccupied with seeking photo opportunity abroad''. The party added that while it has nothing against Nigeria’s participation in seeking peace in the troubled Mali, it is ''however depressing that, upon re-opening his doors, President Buhari had Mali as his priority destination and could not demonstrate the littlest solidarity with Nigerians, even if it is a whistle-stop at any of our military posts in the fronts or any of the distressed states''. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos state recorded 156 new cases, Kano-65, Ogun-57, Plateau-54, Oyo-53, Benue-43, FCT-30, Ondo-18 ,Kaduna-16, Akwa Ibom-13, Gombe-13, Rivers-12, Ekiti-9, Osun-8, Cross River-3, Borno-2, Edo-2 and Bayelsa-1 Nigeria now has 40,532 confirmed cases of the viral disease. 17,374 COVID-19 patients have been discharged so far while 858 deaths have been recorded. On Sunday, July 26, Tonto Dikeh, had an interview with journalist, Dele Momodu where she revealed that she has forgiven her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, for the sake of their child, King Andre. Tonto while speaking on the importance of forgiveness, said she has come to realize that forgiveness is not about the next person but about one's self. She said she has gotten to read the part of the bible where God said he wouldn't forgive us if we do not forgive others. She added that she forgives easily now but doesn't like being provoked by the things a person does after she has forgiven him or her. When asked about her attitude to forgiveness and vindictiveness, she saidA man I love and respect always, talked to me about forgiveness and I have come to realize that forgiveness is not about the next person.I know that forgivessness is not about the next person but the explanation I got recently really wowed me. Harry and Meghan will never resume official roles following the bombshell biography that laid bare their rift with the Royal Family. The book titled "Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family" reveals their soured relationship with the British Royal Family and, according to Daily Mail, it is likely to ruin any hopes of renegotiating their royal duties. The revelations made in the book will also harm efforts to repair their rift with Harry's brother William and sister-in-law Kate. The publication adds that sources believe the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have "torpedoed" any chance of creating a new position with the help of the Queen and senior royals when their "trial period" in the US ends. A royal household source said, according to Daily Mail, "The door will always be open to them as much-loved members of the family. "But it's hard to see how they can now salvage the new role they wanted as 'hybrid' royals, running commercial careers alongside royal duties from the US." Another source told the Mail: "The review period has not yet been discussed but it doesn't seem if there is any way of going back now. Some very private family matters have now been aired in public, seemingly with their blessing. That will be hurtful." The one-year "probationary" period was designed to give all members of the family breathing space and allow Harry and Meghan to establish their independent new lives, while offering them the chance to return to the royal family if they changed their minds. Doja Cat has revealed that she contracted COVID-19 but has made a full recovery after a four-day ordeal. This comes after the 24-year-old American rapper, whose real name is Amalaratna "Amala" Zandile Dlamini, downplayed the virus and said "she didn't give a f***' about the pandemic. Speaking to Capital XTRA, the musician explained that she had a "freakout" of symptoms that lasted four days. She didn't say when she came down with the virus but speculated that she had contracted it through a food delivery service. "I got COVID," Doja Cat said. "Honestly, I don’t know how this happens, but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and I don’t know how I got it, but I got it.” The songstress added: "I’m okay now. It was a four-day symptom freakout, but I’m fine now." 
At the start of the pandemic, during an Instagram Live, Doja Cat compared COVID-19 to the flu and seemingly shamed people who were taking precautions against the virus. Rahmat Abdullahi, the Council Secretary of Abuja Municipal Area Council revealed that she contracted Covid-19 "in the course of service" and she infected her daughter. She explained that it was a period of "indescribable pain and trauma". Thankfully, both mother and daughter are better now and have returned home. She wrote: "I contracted #COVID19 in the course of service then shared the virus with my daughter. Indescribable pain and trauma... Today, my lovely daughter and I are back home hale and hearty. AlhamduliLlah, and thank you all for your love and prayers. We defeated coronavirus!"

Nigeria and Leicester city midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has performed well as a premier league player this season, sharing the EPL top tackler accolade with Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the 2019/2020 season, and in the process setting a new record with his clubside after the premier league season finished on Sunday July 26. In the just-concluded season, Ndidi, 23, made 129 successful tackles alongside Wan-Bissaka, while Pereira made 119 tackles. In his first season for Leicester after joining from Belgian club, Genk, Ndidi topped the tacklers’ chart with 138 successes and was named Leicester City’s Young Player of the Year for the 2017/18 season. The next season he made 144 tackles ahead of Idrissa Gueye (143) and Wan-Bissaka (128) making history by becoming the first player to lead the top of tackle charts for two consecutive seasons. Italian club, Juventus won the Serie A league title on Sunday night, July 26 after Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi's efforts helped the club defeat Sampdoria 2-0. Maurizio Sarri’s team win ensured they were seven points clear of second-placed Inter Milan with just two games left to play. The win means Juvenus have now won the league for the 9th consecutive time, a huge feat given how competitive the league has been over the years. 
Star player, Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Juventus in the first-half injury time before midfielder Federico Bernardeschi added a second in the 67th minute. Juventus' marquee signing, Ronaldo, had another attempt to score again with a penalty but missed it late in the game. This is the second major trophy for Juventus coach, Maurizio Sarri, as his Europa league win with Chelsea was his first. Football fans all over the world have taken to social media to praise Manchester United after Ole Gunnar Solksjaer guided the club to a deserving Champions league spot following a 2-0 win over Leicester City, even though at a point in time this season the Old Trafford club were lagging 15 points Leicester. The addition of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in January rejuvenated the club and after much hardwork, they will now participate in next season's Champions league while grabbing £75m in tournament revenue. United needed just a draw today to qualify but surpassed that with a hard fought 2-0 win. Fans were ecstatic with the win today. See some reactions below.

The 2019/2020 English Premier League season came to an exhilirating end today as football giants, Manchester United and Chelsea beat Leicester City and Wolves respectively to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. United needed a win or draw to qualify for the champions league after drawing last time out against a resilent West Ham side. While Chelsea needed just a draw to pull through to next season's elite European competition. 
Man United started with it's usual line up, Bruno Fernandes and Pogba manning the midfield with Nigeria's Odion Ighalo reduced to a bench role once again. Kelechi Iheanacho started alongside Jamie Vardy for Leicester City as they aimed to pressure United's fragile defence, and Leicester City sure looked the most assured out of both teams at the start of the match. The first half was filled with nervy moments but still ended 0-0 with both coaches wary that all it could take to miss out on next season's competition could be just a silly mistake.The Reds finished a tight first half on top and Rashford come close with a side-footed shot that went over the cross bar, after a spinning ball by Pogba deceived James Justin. 
Pogba was beginning to dictate things and he played Anthony Martial through, only for his shot to be deflected for a corner, and, from the resultant set-piece, Rashford came close with a fizzing effort in the box that produced a save out of Kasper Schmeichel. The second period started much as the first ended and the Reds came close to slipping Martial in on several occasion, yet good defending denied the visitors a significant chance. 
As the match headed closer to a nervy finish, the Reds were awarded a penalty when a mixture of Wes Morgan and Evans brought down Martial in the box, although it was the latter who was adjudged to have committed the offence and was booked. After a significant VAR delay, it was Fernandes who stepped up to score past Schmeichel. Leicester continued to push but United held firm denying any opposition chances. In stoppage time, Evans was sent off in injury-time lunging tackle on Scott McTominay, At the last minute, Lingard scored when he capitalised on a mistake by Schmeichel, dispossessing the goalkeeper to score into an empty net .
Chelsea showed that superiority under club legend, Frank Lampard was a possibility with a convincing 2-0 win over Wolves on Sunday 
Goals from Giroud and Mason Mount hepped the London club secure Champions league football, an unsure prospect at the beginning of the season under Lampard. Chelsea started with Caballero, defensive lime up of Azpilicueta, Zouma, Rudiger, and James, a midfield trio of Jorginho, Kovacic and Alonso, and a mobile front three of Pulisic, Giroud, Mount. Rivals Wolves started with goalkeeper Patricio, defenders Boly, Coady, Saiss, and Doherty, Portuguese midfielder Neves controlled things from the start alongside Dendoncker, Jonny and Neto while the frontline had Jimenez and Jota. In the first half, Mason Mount, rose to the occasion against Wolves, carving open a tight game with a glorious free-kick before sending Olivier Giroud through to settle the match just before half-time. There was much to admire about the way that Mount fed Giroud at the end of a move sparked by Christian Pulisic, a signing that has transformed the club. Giroud rounded Rui Patrício, the Wolves goalkeeper, to make it 2-0 and settle the contest leaving Wolves with no chance.

Suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has stated that he will henceforth reply every attack launched against him. Magu who denied misappropriating funds recovered for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in a statement released by his lawyer Wahab Shittu, averred that the allegations he is currently facing were never brought before the panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the activities of the EFCC under him. The statement read; ”Take notice that, our client can no longer fold his hands in the face of these sustained malicious attacks to prejudge him in the public space. Our client will henceforth, point by point reply to all false allegations orchestrated against him in the public space on a daily basis as well as present his comprehensive defense for the world to see. ”This is without prejudice to the willingness of our client to defend himself in the ongoing proceedings at the Presidential Investigation Panel.“The truth of the matter is that well over N329 billion recovered by EFCC under our client’s watch was remitted directly into NNPC dedicated accounts via Remita under a special arrangement endorsed by NNPC, EFCC and the affected NNPC’s indebted marketers.“By virtue of the said special arrangement, NNPC had requested formally the EFCC to recover the said amount from the affected NNPC’s marketers who were expected to pay such funds directly to NNPC while NNPC, in turn, confirmed receipt of such payments to EFCC.“Therefore, EFCC never took custody of any of the recovered funds and so, the question of misappropriation of such funds by EFCC or our client could not have arisen as falsely published.“Our client has never been confronted with any such allegations purportedly arising from the panel’s proceedings. The story attributed to the panel which has become a recurring decimal, is a dangerous attempt to discredit the work of the honourable panel." Magu further insisted that allegations of him shielding some persons in the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) from prosecution is a “falsehood from the pit of hell. He added that it is tendentiously wicked to suggest that he excluded major approving authorities from the criminal process. The suspended anti-graft agency boss said; “Investigations were painstakingly conducted by EFCC under our client’s watch. The matter has since been referred for prosecution. Charges have been prepared ahead of arraignment in court. “Our client has no interest in shielding anyone found culpable from the long arms of the law. At any rate, time does not run against the state in criminal prosecutions. It is tendentiously wicked to suggest that our client excluded major approving authorities from the criminal process.“As a matter of fact, one Peter Hena, head of the FIRS coordinator support services group, who allegedly authorized the illegal payment is one of those listed to be arraigned. The case was properly investigated and professionally vetted with our client deploying no influence whatsoever on the outcome."The post 
A Black Lives Matter protest in Austin, Texas turned out bloody as one of the protesters was shot dead. The protesters had gathered in downtown Austin in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement when shots rang out Saturday night. A clip of the scene shared online showed protesters marching through the streets and shouting "Black lives" and waving banners reading "BLM". Seconds later, five shots are fired and the video loses focus as protesters scream and run for cover.
